| Background |
| IRDS has been involving in Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Program since 1996. Over the decade IRDS has completed 20 water supply schemes. |

| Objective |
| To establish practical Community Action Plan (CAP) for the implement of sustainable community managed water supply and sanitation systems with optimum cost- effectiveness and maximum community participation and to increase capacity of local people for leadership, resource management and planning. |

| Process and Activities |
- Formation and registration under the water resource Act of water Users' Committee.
- Different kinds of trainings were provided like community action plan, leadership development, Pre- constriction, post construction, VMW(Village Maintenance Worker),VHP( Village Health Worker), Water Users' Committee's treasurer and income generating training for the women groups.
- Conduct health and sanitation education.O&M fund and capital fund collection
- All the responsibilities of the program like project selection, designing, estimating and implementation etc. driven by the users' groups.

| Lesson learnt |
- Program will be succeed and sustainable if all the responsibilities of the program given to the users' groups and organization play role only as a facilitator.
- Leadership Skills can be made concrete by strengthening the community and their organization.
