IRDS > Women Development and Income Generating Program -
In Nepal there is big discrimination between male and female. Literacy rate of women are very less only 30%. They are exploited and victimized by society due to lack of education and awareness

  1. Women are involved in the household work but not include their economic value.
  2. Gender discrimination prevails so; they are given less importance in the society than male.
  3. They are suffered from different social violence like women trafficking, raping.
  4. The participation of women is less in the different part of society.
  5. Marriages before age, widow, are seen as a root problem

Our Efforts-
  1. Women groups are made comprising 15 to 30 women in a group.
  2. These groups are encouraged to save regularly.
  3. They are motivated to revolving the saving amounts.
  4. Various incomes generating related training programme. Would be conducted.
  5. Different awareness programme is being conducted.
  6. 200 literacy classes have been successfully conducted.

Our Strategy-
  1. These groups will be registered under co-operative act and made legitimate.
  2. Loan issued to those groups run by Samaj from their saving amount equally from cooperative.
  3. Various skill developments training programme will be conducted.
  4. For the illiterate women of the groups, the literacy programme would be conducted.
  5. They will be trained by giving various co-operative training.
  6. Various awareness programme (about health & sanitation legitimacy, discrimination) would be steered institutionally.

Our Problems-
  1. Economic problem to continue of the programme.
  2. Problem of resources to expand the programme area.
